A SHORT SYNOPSIS OF OUR STORY

From Lisa's pen... to our dance community.

One of our first sails in Hawaii
One of our first sails in Hawaii

We're Tony & Lisa. Tony and I are in our mid-fifties. Tony and I actually met through dance. I was a competitive dancer at a popular Dance Studio. We knew we wanted to know more about each other on May 5th 2023 (aka Cinco de mayo)

I was doing a performance for the holiday. Tony came to enjoy the evening and dance.

I noticed him before this time. However, I never approached him. Tony shared with me that he noticed me too. Basically, we both were drawn to the other. For me, I wasn’t looking any kind of relationship. I had just got out of an extremely toxic marriage of over three decades, a few years before. I found dance and never looked back.

When I say it literally saved my life. I mean it. I decided to take time concentrating on myself and focus on healing through therapy. Finding who I was as an individual. Another relationship was not on my radar. Still, there was this guy that walked into the studio. He had some kind of magnetic spell.

His warmth, patience and kindness had such a positive draw for me. I could not pass it by. Tony shared with me that my smile and welcoming heart. Is what drew him to me. Fast forwarding to a few days later. We finally made it on our first date. Part of that date took us to the Venice beach drum circle. This is where we learned, what would soon become a reality. Neither of us knew, that the other had dreamt to call the sea our home. Tony has always had a dream of sailing the seven seas. He didn’t know how, but he knew he would. Even if it was roughing it to get there, that was okay with him. It was a passion he was going to embrace.

Here I am. A woman of the water already. Owning a 40ft 385 Pursuit OS (offshore) motorboat with a complete full cabin. Lets not forget. I have a bit of deep sea fishing under my belt. That I am so excited to share those skills with the love of my life! Tony comes with fourteen years of serving our country as a medic. So we both bring something to the table of sailing. This beautiful world and embracing all it has to offer all of us. Is very exciting

Our vision/path going forward. Keeping open to the idea. We’ll adapt to any changes needed. We bought a forty foot catamaran sailboat. A Fontaine Pajot 41. Built out of France. It is projected for completion mid October 2025. Till then we will be flying over to Thailand to spend time there. Enjoying the beauty and welcomeness of the country. For myself, Asia has always been a love of mine. It’s a big bonus that the dollar to baht is what is.

We are thankful to make it over there, to include their healthcare savings. The healthcare system is quite top notch. We plan to take full advantage of such a gift! Tony will also be starting back up his Muay Thai / Yoga training. I’m sure it won’t be hard to find whatever new skills, I can learn over there. (it'll be cooking) Obviously, learning the Thai language will be part of that.

Backtracking just a bit. Next Monday May 26th We fly out to the BVI’s for one week to finish up our national sailing certifications. Then back to say goodbyes to family members. We'll finish with a plane to France. Mid June for an open house of the factory (Fontaine Pajot) that is building our boat. We just finished up with our Estate sale. Yes, we are one of those, that sold everything! To now live the minimalist lifestyle. Tony is quite stoked about this part, to say the least. I actually I am also.

We are naming our beautiful new home. PATIENCE. The idea is to have a daily reminder of something that can offer us more serenity. Just like our front/back yard being the sea. We are beyond excited to meet all of the new faces. Learning and appreciating all the cultures, as well as food in different parts of this big world.

You also can find us on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and we have our a youtube channel. We’ll post weekly updates for you to follow. You’ll be able to see where we are and what we are facing at the moment. Along with learning, what it takes to become a sailors. The tricks of the trades, the do’s and the not so much. Learn about different cultures that might spark your taste. The rules and laws around this big world and how they are different. Travel through storms, sunny skies. Splash in the sea to marvel in the beautiful underwater world. We will be offering Q & A time. To give our followers the opportunity to ask questions Who knows maybe, just maybe, you will one day want to embark and step out of the modern day living comfort zone. To open whatever horizon you would like.

We want to let each of you know. That you have touched Tony and I in some way. Learning to dance and the community it brings, will be forever cherished. Tony and I plan to never stop dancing. We are excited to be introduced to new culture dances. We love to share along with you on our channels. Stardust Ballroom. Mark & Cheryl. We are grateful for the love, kindness and patience you have always shown us. Always doing your best to make us feel welcome. For myself, thank you Mark for listening to me. Helping me plan my goals and supporting me, while teaching me the skills to reach them. Pushing me to be better and better. With encouragement and so much patience, so much patience. Working around juggling schedules during hectic times with understanding.

I don't say this lightly or as a cliche, I truly couldn't ask for a better dance teacher!! I’m pretty sure Tony feels the very same with his teacher Penny!! From the deepest part of our hearts we say “THANK YOU” with as much feeling that we can put behind it!

We will miss all of you, here. The Friday Night Socials are so much fun. It gives us the opportunity to share the love of dance and shows what it gives us all individually. Thank you, for all the dances that we had with each of you.

We hope you enjoy this little 2 minuet dance that we put together with our teachers Mark and Penny. Come Sail Away with us. (I’m going to ask you to dive into your imagination for a brief moment) In front of each chair is a Streamer. We would like for you to be a part of this Sail Away dance with us. When the music starts please imagine being a wave in the ocean. Wave the blue & white streamers around like a wave. At the top of each stick is a light. Turn it on and imagine it as a star in the deep sky.

  • With gratitude, we'll miss you all.....
